Location: Manchester Salary: £35,000

The FirmWell-recognised leading firm of Insolvency Practitioners specialising in the Business Recovery and restructuring market place. The firm handles all aspects of corporate and individual insolvency utilising the full range of insolvency procedures, especially solvent and insolvent liquidations, receiverships, administrations, voluntary arrangements and bankrupy.The RoleA role has arisen due to growth within the Manchester office for an experienced Assistant Manager working alongside the Associate Director. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of handling Administrations, CVL’s, MVL’s, Section 110, Bankruptcies and IVA’s. The applicant will have come from either a similar background or a reputable firm of Chartered Accountants, and will be seeking a move into a dynamic fast moving environment.CaseloadAdminister a portfolio of live cases, the size of which is to be agreed dependant on the level of additional tasks.Staff trainingOrganise training for staff on a regular basis (either in-house or using external providers) on topics to be agreed following discussion with management and staff.MentoringAssistant managers will be allocated staff to whom they will act as mentors in matters generally as well as providing technical advice. This includes checking complex or contentious cases and general supervision of an experienced team.MarketingAssistant managers to take a fuller role in marketing activities with Senior members of staff, including Networking events, business development and generation, and the planning of marketing activities.EventsThe Assistant Manager should have an active role in helping to organise events such as training days and Networking events.Management meetingAssistant managers should be involved in the relevant aspects of management meetingsOffice matters generallyAssistant Managers will cover for management on those days when no managers are present in the office and will be expected to contact the appropriate person should any important issue arise.It is expected that Assistant Managers will form a ‘first point of contact’ for any junior staff with issues relating to their work (such as workload) and that they will communicate between themselves to find the best way of dealing with any such issues.
